Most tools ask one question: was this made by AI? Media Checker examines a broader problem — AI-generated, AI-assisted, digitally manipulated, composited, inpainted, heavily re-encoded, screen-captured, photographed from another screen, stripped of metadata, or reposted with misleading context.

Visual coherence
A photograph behaves like a body of water. Grain is locally chaotic, but it is the same fluid. A noisy pixel is a droplet. A reconstruction is a river. Media Checker no longer asks which detector fired. It asks whether the neighbourhood holds together.
Two images can depict the same paddock while having completely different forensic characteristics. Media Checker does not ask whether the subject looks familiar. It examines the digital evidence surrounding the file itself.

Reconstruction
The picture may be internally consistent — a painting is still a painting — but the fluid is different.
It analyzes digital evidence. It cannot independently prove who created an image, where or when it was taken, whether a caption is true, whether a person is lying, motive, or the complete history of a file.

Media Checker no longer asks which detector fired. It asks whether the evidence is coherent across the entire image. Ordinary checkers average weak opinions into one polite percentage. That is how everything becomes 59%.
